| This Sutton Coldfield Chess Club website was opened on 03/Mar/1999, making it only the second by a club in the Birmingham and District Chess League. For the record, first with their own site was Birmingham University CC, third was Mutual Circle CC. However, both these sites have not been regularly updated; in other words, Sutton Coldfield CC lays claim to having the oldest, continuously maintained website by a club in the B'ham League. Despite it being devoted to just one club, this website is quite popular, though the number of daily hits fluctuates enormously. Predictably, there are large surges of visits following promotion or mere mention of the site in magazines like Chess Monthly, and in newsgroups such as rec.games.chess.analysis. The site has attracted many favourable reviews from the chess community.
A number of assorted HTML, WYSIWYG and other applications are experimented with while building and maintaining these pages, but my (the webmaster’s) current preferences are for Fookes Software’s NoteTab Pro 4.95 as the workaday editor, with Jasc’s Paint Shop Pro 7 for graphics handling. Code validation is by Liam Quinn’s A Real Validator 1.11, while uploading is by Coffee Cup’s Free FTP 3.0.

Besides this particular site, I am also Webmaster of several other sites unconnected with chess, such as the official website of Midland roots rock band Medicine Sunday. I will consider paid commissions.
